Vampyre

Do not come after me. I am aware the cover picture is from Bram Stoker's Dracula. My counterargument: Gary Oldman is fantastic, and I am utterly unapologetic. Go watch the movie.

My goal is to ultimately read "The Vampyre," Polidori's diary (the relevant passages at least), and some outside texts to build an essay for class (mine is due 12/2). I have my sources all prepared and set up-I have literally already cited three sources in my paper- though I only have an intro paragraph that will not make the final paper. I hope to convey the scandal of this literary journey that Polidori never intended to go on. I want to explore the background of the publication, how the story came to be, and how it was received. The Internet Archive has everything I need, and I have so many tabs open I kind of feel bad for my computer, but I simply haven't devoted myself to the paper yet.

I have lots to do and Thanksgiving will be one almost solely devoted to schoolwork, unfortunately.

What sticks out to me is how both (spoiler...maybe?) Byron and Polidori told the editor/publisher that the work was Polidori's, but the editor kind of didn't care and only some of the published versions of the story are credited to Polidori. I feel as if the editor really just wanted the drama. He's the villain then. I'll look him up, maybe he has a name- oooh maybe he's done this before, too.
